Word On The Street Is That Staplehouse Serves The Best Food In Georgia

I realize that serving "the best food in Georgia" is a pretty lofty claim - after all, we have countless restaurants located all over the state, many of which are quite delicious. Few, however, have the national accolades that Atlanta's Staplehouse has received since opening up in 2015. This place frequently appears on lists of best restaurants in the Peach State capital, with many considering it one of the nation's best eateries. It also has a wonderful back story and supports a charity that's helped out countless residents of the Atlanta area in times of need. Check it out:

Staplehouse got its start as a supper club started by Jen and Ryan Hidinger. Opening a restaurant was Ryan's dream, but he sadly passed away in 2013. Two years later, his family would open the brick-and-mortar restaurant in Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.

The small restaurant can seat around 40 diners and features a prix fixe tasting menu for dinner and a traditional menu at lunch where guests can choose items a la carte for more of a relaxed experience.

Staplehouse focuses on locally-procured items that were grown nearby, meaning you get to enjoy the freshest foods possible here.

The restaurant is a for-profit subsidy of The Giving Kitchen, a charity that supports Atlanta restaurant workers undergoing hardships such as medical crises.

It would be easy for Staplehouse to rest on its laurels and gain business just based on its good story and charity work, but trust us, it doesn't.

Trends come and go in restaurants, but one recent popular movement that we hope sticks around is farm-to-table dining. The shift to locally-procured ingredients is good for the environment and the local economy. It also tastes better and is even healthier for the customer: all big wins in my book! There are plenty of great farm-to-table restaurants in Georgia - we have a pretty extensive agricultural industry, after all. The spot we're featuring today is the delightful Sugar Magnolia Bistro & Bar in Statesboro, GA. This charming college town has grown in leaps and bounds over the last few years, and among the city's many new attractions is a myriad of excellent eateries. This one's one of the best... check it out!

Sugar Magnolia is an adorable little bakery right in the heart of downtown Statesboro, not too far from Georgia Southern University.

The restaurant also has a second location, though it's just a coffeehouse, in nearby Brampton Place.

Inside, you'll find a cozy atmosphere that's slightly upscale, but not so stuffy that you'll be uncomfortable.

One of the best things about life in the Peach State is the food. We've got access to so many amazing Southern eats, and practically every town in the state has somewhere serving up good old country cooking just like Grandma used to make. It's not just food, it's part of our culture, and it's a vital way to bond with friends and family. One of our favorite restaurants for Southern food in Albany, GA is the delightful Pearly's. It's been around for more than 30 years, and though the ownership has recently changed, it's still serving up the amazing country eats that residents of Albany have come to expect. Check it out:

Though Albany is quite a large metropolitan area, you'll feel like you're in a small town when you dine here. Pearly's has that great comforting atmosphere that can only be found in old-school Southern restaurants.
